Growing up in New Hampshire and spending many cold winters indoors helped to inspire a love of game play for Christine. She loves thinking up ways to adapt games for purposeful math practice. Christine believes that when students have a strong foundation of basic math skills, they are better able to free up their working memory for creative problem solving. There are many interesting paths one may take to solve a math problem, and this instructor loves observing and exploring how students think and problem solve.
Christine graduated summa cum laude from Plymouth State College with a bachelor of science in education, received her master’s degree in education with a specialization in mathematics from California State University, Los Angeles, and holds a California teacher credential. As a stay at home mom, Christine has homeschooled her youngest daughter and routinely helped in the math classes of her older children. This experience has helped her to understand the intricate connection between early math education and algebraic reasoning, and how to help students bridge this gap.
