Heidi has over 15 years tutoring and teaching experience with diverse learners. She holds a Masters of Education and current license in K-12 Visual Art and has taught all art media at the elementary through high school level, including three years at an online high school (she has since loved working face to face with REAL HUMANS again! 🙂 ). She holds a BA in Philosophy and a Human Needs and Global Resources (HNGR) certificate from Wheaton College and studied painting and illustration at Minneapolis College of Art and Design’s post-baccalaureate program. She moved out to LA from Minneapolis in 2012 to study comedy improv at the Groundlings and launch an award-winning comedic musical variety show. In addition to teaching art, Heidi has worked as an actor, a Spanish interpreter, photographer and photo editor, illustrator, private piano, flute and voice teacher, and has loved being able to dabble in filmmaking, animation, puppetry, costume design and comedic performance while still keeping a hand in education. It might also be worth mentioning that she has a bit of an addiction to rock climbing and enjoys introducing people to the sport. She genuinely loves connecting with a wide range of students, facilitating authentic learning experiences and helping youth realize their potential!
