Coach Nita/Vernita is an Independent Education Consultant with the national Independent Education Consultant Association. She has over 20 years of experience as a classroom teacher working with students with learning exceptionalities as indicated on their Individual Education Plan. She has also served for over 5 years as a Special Education Administrator and Credentialing Supervisor, mentoring teachers in perfecting their practice in teaching students with Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Severe learning needs.
Her dissertation on the leadership practices of high school administrators that promote students access to college and career opportunities is evidence of her passion in developing students’ personal educational skills in preparation for college/career. She works with students by providing educational services that meet their IEP goals and objectives in collaboration with students’ families with the goal to providing the best possible education for the student’s transition into adult college and/or career opportunities. Her focus on elementary education is to establish the foundation of learning that will continue into a student’s ability to learn over their lifetime.
On consideration of students’ educational needs, she works with students on an individual or a small group (2-5) basis to ensure students’ educational needs are effectively met.
