Art 2: January 2024 (Fridays) Grades 6-12th

Art 2: January 2024 (Fridays) Grades 6-12th

Summary: Think drawing is a gift that has to come naturally? You might be surprised to see that drawing is a skill that can be developed with practice. Students learn how to draw with proper techniques, learning how to represent what they see through studies. In Art 2 you will learn to improve your skills with line, value, and texture but also explore local value concepts, one and two point perspective, and ideas for creating the illusion of depth working with detail. We will further explore using basic shape and lines to understand the basic form of an object. We will focus more on composition and rendering skills. Drawing projects in still life, figure, landscape, and design will explore shape, line, contour, texture, perspective, and overall composition. We will also touch on drawing cityscapes or interiors that use perspective.
