Hospitality Class - PASADENA: June (Tue-Thu) Grades K-5th

Summary: On Manners: We will practice table manners, and make our own lunch, desserts at the park. Tea Party: We will have tea parties. We will learn about tea cup history, basic tea types, brewing tea, table settings at home and at camp. May Day Basket: We will learn about an old tradition for young people to leaving gift baskets hanging on the door knobs for friends and neighbors. The gift of letter: We will learn about letter gift ideas, make hand made envelopes and hand written letters to friends and relatives. Picnicking: We will learn how and what to prepare for picnic, what to bring, how to put things away after picnic. Classical music and poems during camps: We will listen age proper classical music and poems while prepping food, making cards and letters.



All supplies are provided.

About the Instructor

Emese is a Classical Opera and Broadway vocalist and concert pianist. She is a graduate of the Zoltan Kodaly College of Music in Hungary in 1994 and received her Bachelor's Degree in Music, Teaching Credential and Artist Diploma from the Liszt Ferenc Academy in Hungary in 1998. As a performing member of the Kodaly Chorus, Emese toured with the group to Germany, Austria, Russia, Poland, Czechoslovakia,Finland, Italy, France, Spain, and Portugal. She studied voice with Professor Endre Zador and has appeared in productions of operas by Puccini, Verdi, Mascagni, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Wagner, as well as in countless broadway and operetta ( light opera) productions. Emese's linguistic skills give her the capability to perform and teach music pieces in their original languages of Italian, Russian, German, French, Hungarian, Spanish, Finnish, Chinese and Japanese. 


Emese meets weekly with various homeschool parenting groups in the San Gabriel Valley area, helping them to use and personalize curriculums all year long.


She has long years of experience teaching children in Sunday schools with multiple subjects, and she is comfortable to serve homeschooling families as a subject guide in elementary and middle school level. She provides resources and tools that are relevant to the subject area, guides families through elementary years, helps to choose high schools and colleges for students that suits them best. The families she works with usually stay with her while teaching multiple siblings through elementary, middle school years on the average of 5-12 years.

    Please review our Pods in the Park Policy information before purchasing. As a parent, you will be acknowledging the following statements:

    • I understand that in the event of inclement weather, I will be notified of the cancellation by 9AM via email. Your instructor will inform you if the class will be held online or postponed to another date.
    • I understand that there are not make-ups if my child is absent for a class.
    • I understand that Pods in the Park is NOT a drop-off program. Parents or guardians must stay on site for the entire duration of the class. Parents may inform the instructor if another parent or guardian will be overseeing their child in case they have to leave.
    • In the case that the Health Department sets mandates in regards to public meetings, we will update our policy to be in line with those mandates
