In this class, students will get a first look at how to design a women's clothing line. They will learn how to design for a customer and how to price and sell a small clothing line. The basic elements of color story, mood, fabric story and fashion silhouettes will be explored. And finally students will learn to draw basic croquis and flats. This is a project based class and they students will complete projects each week for each element taught in class. Students will practice the valuable skill of presenting their work to an audience. The final project will include a complete storyboard including customer, colors, fabrics and sketches. There will be homework in this class. This is primarily an art class. Please see attached for materials list. *Even though this class will be taught using women's sketches and point of view, all elements of this class can be applied to other areas of fashion design including accessories and menswear.
