Life Skills Sewing is a beginner's introduction to basic hand sewing techniques. Students will learn the basic sewing skills necessary to be able to hem a pant, sew on a button and repair a hole in a garment! The first 4 weeks we will cover the basic sewing techniques: threading the needle, tying a knot, basic terminology, ironing, basic stitches, sewing on a button, hemming a raw edge and making a patch. The last 4 weeks we will apply our skills and hand stitch a stuffed pillow animal. This class teaches useful and creative skills all students need! Please contact me for the materials list. No sewing machine required, only hand sewing techniques will be used in this class.
