About this Coach
LESSON FEES: $65 for a 30-minute lesson $85 for a 45-minute lesson $100 for a 60-minute lesson IN-PERSON LESSON LOCATIONS: Pasadena, East/Central San Gabriel Valley, East side of Los Angeles, Glendale, can meet at public library (e.g. Monrovia) SUBJECTS: General Writing, Essay Writing, Creative Writing, Literature, Grammar/Spelling, Reading Comprehension, Reading, Math Concepts/Intervention, Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 COACH BIO: I use a structured, systematic approach to literacy and math instruction that is tailored to each student’s needs. I have nearly 20 years of experience as a teacher and intervention specialist, both in classrooms and in private practice. I am a credentialed multiple subject teacher and Reading Specialist and hold a master’s degree in Language and Literacy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I am also trained in the Orton Gillingham (phonics-based) reading approach, which is considered the gold standard in instruction for dyslexia.
Important Notes
All cancellations or schedule changes must be made directly with the instructor by 6 p.m. the night before a lesson to avoid a full lesson penalty fee. Some instructors may provide you with written notification outlining a different cancellation/penalty policy. This policy will supersede Home School Coaches’ policy. We truly want these lessons to support your educational goals, so feel free to share your expectations with your coach; this will enable them to provide you with a uniquely customized learning experience.
