I have had a desire to be a teacher since I was young since both my parents taught in both a public school setting and a private school setting. I was also homeschooled for most of my time in elementary school and very much benefited from being able to learn at my own pace (and it didn't hurt that my mom was my teacher). I especially enjoy teaching high schoolers and middle schoolers since they are beginning their journey as adults, and it's an especially formative time in their lives. My goal is to help them think critically for themselves and to be able to analyze and evaluate all the information that is being placed before them in both an academic and non academic context. My favorite subjects to teach include any kind of social studies: World or US History, Government, and Economics. I also enjoy teaching Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry. In terms of English, I enjoy helping students learn how to write essays and research papers along with teaching them various kinds of literature and how to analyze literature. My bachelor's degree is in ancient languages: specifically Hebrew and Greek. I have a master's of divinity degree as well. My relatives live in Washington and Oregon, so I am the odd family member who moved to California. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing disc golf and regular golf, hiking, camping, and occasionally playing historically themed video games.
