About this Instructor

LESSON FEES: $40 for a 30-minute lesson $50 for a 45-minute lesson $60 for a 60-minute lesson SUBJECTS: Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, General Writing, Essay Writing, Creative Writing, College Application Essay, Literature, Grammar/Spelling, Knitting, Yoga BILINGUAL IN: (some) Spanish I'm Korie Beth, or KB. I'm a lifelong learner, as you can see from the degrees and certificates I have earned over the course of my life. These include a B.A. and M.A. in English, a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in English, an M.Ed and Ph.D. in Education, and two certificates: Dropout Prevention Specialist, and a Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development. Beyond that, I have studied yoga intensively for the past ten years, earning my Yoga Teacher Training 500 certificate as well as one in Accessible Yoga. I've been teaching private yoga classes since 2013; I also teach classes at the Cancer Support Community in Pasadena. I taught high school English from 1987 to 2017, following that with two years' part-time work as a consultant for Houghton-Mifflin-Harcourt. Although retired, I've missed working with kids. Fortunately, I am now able to offer online classes here at Advanced Life Education! I look forward to working with your and with your children and young adults.

All cancellations or schedule changes must be made directly with the instructor by 6 p.m. the night before a lesson to avoid a full lesson penalty fee. Some instructors may provide you with written notification outlining a different cancellation/penalty policy. This policy will supersede Home School Coaches’ policy. We truly want these lessons to support your educational goals, so feel free to share your expectations with your coach; this will enable them to provide you with a uniquely customized learning experience. Should you ever feel that these lessons do not match your expectations, please contact us to receive a refund on your remaining balance or to be matched with a different instructor.
