My passion for teaching stems from my desire to help my community and serve our society in the best way that I can. I completed undergraduate coursework at UCLA and am currently working towards a teaching credential in mathematics at SDSU ( I currently hold a substitute teaching credential.) I have worked as a math tutor for 2 years and also served as the instructor of record for a university level Math Support course at SDSU. This class was designed to support students passing various math classes required for graduation. My goal in teaching math always goes beyond just helping students grasp the material; I strive to develop the students' view of themselves as capable and confident mathematicians. In addition to teaching math I also have taught composition at SDSU as the instructor of record for a course titled "Critical Thinking And Composition", which satisfied a university writing requirement. Having assigned and graded a multitude of essay assignments for this class has helped me develop and improve teaching strategies and techniques for college level composition and analysis. I focus on teaching logic and correct reasoning as a way to develop effective composition. I have also worked as a consultant helping college applicants draft admissions statements and essays. I am passionate about helping students become clear and effective writers at all levels. My hobbies include video games (I love Street Fighter) and exercising (running and boxing).
