LESSON FEES: $45 for a 30-minute lesson $55 for a 45-minute lesson $65 for a 60-minute lesson SUBJECTS: Latin, Writing Composition, Speech and Debate, Subject Guide COACH BIO: Hello parents and students! My name is Joseph, I'm a senior at Providence Christian College studying Psychology and Philosophy. I grew up in Orlando Florida, I’m the oldest of four children, and I graduated through the Classical Conversations homeschool program, completing all three levels: Foundations, Essentials, and Challenge A-IV. My favorite subject in high school was Latin, and I briefly tutored it as an 11th grader. As a contractor with Home School Coaches, I offer classes in History, Speech & Debate, and Writing & Composition. For students in Classical Conversations, I offer a special course called Senior Thesis Composition, which walks a student through the Challenge IV Senior Thesis assignment, beginning in August by forming a thesis statement, and moving through three stages of writing development: Invention, Arrangement, and Elocution to prepare for panel defense by April. If I had to capture my philosophy of education, it would be defined by the Roman educator Marcus Quintillian who believed that the character of the student was as equally critical to the student’s success as the intellectual process. By cultivating the mind as much as the heart, students grow as a whole person. My interests and hobbies include traveling, reading, and music making. My favorite place I’ve traveled to is Florence, Italy. My favorite book series is Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games. I also enjoy choir and playing piano in my free time. Aurelius Learning

LESSON FEES: $40 for a 30-minute lesson $50 for a 45-minute lesson $60 for a 60-minute lesson SUBJECTS: Spanish, AP Spanish Literature and Culture, Theatre/Set Design, General Writing, Essay Writing, Creative Writing, College Application Essay, Literature, Grammar/Spelling, Reading Comprehension, Reading, SAT - English Prep, ACT - English Prep, AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, Poetry, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Philosophy, Logic, Crocheting, Book Clubs, Life Skills, Fieldtrips, AP Capstone Diploma Program: AP Research & Seminar, Subject Guide BILINGUAL IN: Spanish COACH BIO: Hello! My name is Briana, and I am deeply passionate about helping students grow into confident, capable, and curious learners who feel proud of their academic progress. I hold a Master’s Degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University, where I focused on developing equitable and engaging teaching strategies for diverse learners. Before that, I earned my undergraduate degree from Cal Poly Pomona, an experience that strengthened my love for language, literature, and the power of communication. I also hold a Single Subject Teaching Credential in English Language Arts for grades 9 through 12. My teaching philosophy is rooted in a student-centered and inquiry-based approach. I believe that when students are actively engaged in questioning, exploring, and reflecting, learning becomes more meaningful and memorable. Rather than simply telling students what to think, I encourage them to ask “why” and “how.” This helps them develop critical thinking skills and fosters intellectual independence. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand that the most meaningful progress happens when students feel genuinely supported. That’s why I take an individualized approach — every student learns differently, so I adapt my strategies based on their goals, strengths, and challenges. I use a combination of discussion, guided practice, and independent work to help students feel both challenged and confident. If you’re looking for a tutor who values patience, communication, and genuine connection, I would love to work with your student and help them thrive both academically and personally.
