About this Instructor

LESSON FEES: $75 for a 30-minute lesson $100 for a 45-minute lesson $125 for a 60-minute lesson IN-PERSON LESSON LOCATIONS: Ventura SUBJECTS: Piano, Voice, Vocals, Choir, Music Theory Alissa has been teaching voice and piano since 2004. A resident of Ventura, CA, Alissa loves helping students meet their musical goals. She teaches using a tailored approach, personalizing lessons to each individual student. Alissa enjoys teaching in all genres including Classical, Broadway, Jazz, Pop and Contemporary music. Above all, she believes in providing a positive learning environment and strives to give students approachable, accurate, and informed instruction.Outside of teaching music Alissa is a mom of two wonderful kids. She will treat your kids as she would her own. Education and Experience Stats: - Master's in Music from UC Santa Barbara where she was the head voice teaching assistant. - Past elementary and middle school music, choir, and performing arts teacher in Ventura, CA. There she wrote and directed the bi-annual school plays and musicals and lead the middle school choir. - Has helped many students prepare for successful auditions with the Los Alamitos High School Choirs, Orange County School of the Arts, Orange County Song and Dance, The Long Beach Playhouse, The Rubicon, The Attic and many Universities including UCSB and Pepperdine. - Active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing - Has had a vibrant performing life in Opera and Music Theater. - Studied music in Austria and in Milan, Italy. - Served as the Steven Rothenberg Fellow with Ojai Music Festival. All cancellations or schedule changes must be made directly with the instructor by 6 p.m. the night before a lesson to avoid a full lesson penalty fee. Some instructors may provide you with written notification outlining a different cancellation/penalty policy. This policy will supersede Home School Coaches’ policy. We truly want these lessons to support your educational goals, so feel free to share your expectations with your coach; this will enable them to provide you with a uniquely customized learning experience.
