About this Instructor

LESSON FEES: $55 for a 30-minute lesson $65 for a 45-minute lesson $75 for a 60-minute lesson IN-PERSON LESSON LOCATIONS: West Hollywood, West LA, Santa Monica, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Venice, Marina del Rey SUBJECTS: Psychology, Philosophy, General Writing, Essay Writing, Creative Writing, Grammar/Spelling, Reading Comprehension, Reading, Math Concepts/Intervention, Math Games/Foundations, Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Elementary Science, Elementary Chemistry, Elementary Biology, Elementary Life Science,Government, History, Social Studies, World History, Photography I was born in New Jersey in 1973 and raised in both the suburbs of New York and New York City. I graduated from Cornell University in 1995 and moved to Los Angeles in 1998 to work in the entertainment industry as a freelance filmmaker. I currently live in Santa Monica and have worked in education since 2017. I love everything about education and want to continue to grow as a tutor and teacher. My background lies primarily in political science, which was my major in college. I am also proficient in and eager to tutor math (geometry, pre-algebra, and algebra), language arts (reading comprehension, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary), social studies (world history, American history), and science (earth science, biology, and chemistry). I also consider myself a strong writer and love tutoring creative writing. Working with kids has transformed my life and brought me gifts I could never have imagined. To watch a light bulb turn on in a student, as he or she comes to a realization or understanding of a subject, is exhilarating and rewarding. I especially enjoy working one on one with kids and want to dive deeper into tutoring and homeschooling. I feel I have a broad liberal arts background to offer kids the support they need to grow and excel in academics, but more importantly, in life. I appreciate the field of education and hope to continue to grow and excel myself, as I gain experience and knowledge, because that is what learning is all about.
