BIO
Jessica Chen is a dynamic and experienced music educator who loves sharing the joy of music with others. Jessica is excited to begin working with the homeschool community through Excellence in Education and Home School Coaches! As the owner of Horizon Music Studio, Jessica offers private lessons and group classes for violin and viola, helping students to ‘develop excellence with joy’. Jessica guides students to develop practice skills, express themselves artistically, and perform with confidence.
 
Jessica holds degrees in violin performance and music education from the University of Colorado Boulder and Ithaca College. She holds the California state music teaching credential and has extensive training in the Suzuki Method and string pedagogy. Jessica is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA) and the Suzuki Music Association of California (SMAC). As a violinist, Jessica enjoys performing across Los Angeles with ensembles including LA Film Conducting Intensive and Laós Chamber Music, as well as serving as a worship musician with Stream of Praise 讚美之泉. Jessica also loves learning languages, reading, and nature.
