Summer Music Camp - PASADENA: June (Mon-Fri) Grades K-6th

Summary: On Monday June 24th we will go for a field trip to Bandrika Studios, scoring stage to see unique, rare instruments that have been used for film and television. The center piece of the studio is a restored 1928 Wurlitzer Theater Organ (pipe organ) that lived at 20th Cenntury Fox Studios from 1928 to 1998. The organ has been used by composers such as John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith and more.

 

In this music camp we will do music arts and crafts. Make music themed calendars, postcards, necklaces, bracelets. Bring your own instrument and play/sing with us in the park! We will also learn to play songs on the recorder, and lap harp. We will be listening baroque, romantic, classical music and learning about music compositions such as operas, operettas, and musicals. In addition, we will play educational music games.

 

Supplies

Bring your own food. All materials are provided for this camp.

About the Instructor

Emese is a Classical Opera and Broadway vocalist and concert pianist. She is a graduate of the Zoltan Kodaly College of Music in Hungary in 1994 and received her Bachelor's Degree in Music, Teaching Credential and Artist Diploma from the Liszt Ferenc Academy in Hungary in 1998. As a performing member of the Kodaly Chorus, Emese toured with the group to Germany, Austria, Russia, Poland, Czechoslovakia,Finland, Italy, France, Spain, and Portugal. She studied voice with Professor Endre Zador and has appeared in productions of operas by Puccini, Verdi, Mascagni, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Wagner, as well as in countless broadway and operetta ( light opera) productions. Emese's linguistic skills give her the capability to perform and teach music pieces in their original languages of Italian, Russian, German, French, Hungarian, Spanish, Finnish, Chinese and Japanese. 

 

Emese meets weekly with various homeschool parenting groups in the San Gabriel Valley area, helping them to use and personalize curriculums all year long.

 

She has long years of experience teaching children in Sunday schools with multiple subjects, and she is comfortable to serve homeschooling families as a subject guide in elementary and middle school level. She provides resources and tools that are relevant to the subject area, guides families through elementary years, helps to choose high schools and colleges for students that suits them best. The families she works with usually stay with her while teaching multiple siblings through elementary, middle school years on the average of 5-12 years.

    Please review our Pods in the Park Policy information before purchasing. As a parent, you will be acknowledging the following statements:

    • I understand that in the event of inclement weather, I will be notified of the cancellation by 9AM via email. Your instructor will inform you if the class will be held online or postponed to another date.
    • I understand that there are not make-ups if my child is absent for a class.
    • I understand that Pods in the Park is NOT a drop-off program. Parents or guardians must stay on site for the entire duration of the class. Parents may inform the instructor if another parent or guardian will be overseeing their child in case they have to leave.
    • In the case that the Health Department sets mandates in regards to public meetings, we will update our policy to be in line with those mandates
