My name is Briana, and I am deeply passionate about helping students grow into confident, capable, and curious learners who feel proud of their academic progress. I hold a Master’s Degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University, where I focused on developing equitable and engaging teaching strategies for diverse learners. Before that, I earned my undergraduate degree from Cal Poly Pomona, an experience that strengthened my love for language, literature, and the power of communication. I also hold a Single Subject Teaching Credential in English Language Arts for grades 9 through 12. My teaching philosophy is rooted in a student-centered and inquiry-based approach. I believe that when students are actively engaged in questioning, exploring, and reflecting, learning becomes more meaningful and memorable. Rather than simply telling students what to think, I encourage them to ask “why” and “how.” This helps them develop critical thinking skills and fosters intellectual independence. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand that the most meaningful progress happens when students feel genuinely supported. That’s why I take an individualized approach — every student learns differently, so I adapt my strategies based on their goals, strengths, and challenges. I use a combination of discussion, guided practice, and independent work to help students feel both challenged and confident. If you’re looking for a tutor who values patience, communication, and genuine connection, I would love to work with your student and help them thrive both academically and personally.
