Marianne did her undergraduate work at the University of La Verne and completed student teaching courses there, taking time off to begin a family, learning more about teaching students of all ages in various settings along the way. She received her degree from Charter Oak State College, and went on to gain a Masters, along with a CTE (Career Technical Education) Credential in seven subject areas. She speaks Spanish, and a little Russian, bolstered by travels in regions of the world where those languages are spoken, and from the Exchange Program. She has worked with students in a variety of educational settings - traditional schools, homeschools, a privately owned tutoring clinic, and charter schools, along with individual clients over long term. She has designed and held a private Russian Exchange Summer program for twenty years focusing on conversational English, American history and culture with daily classes and activities, along with establishing a resource school for homeschoolers grades K – 12 in the US, and an educational program in Zimbabwe. Her most recent favorite educational time was being part of a team who were equipping teachers in Kurdistan, Iraq! Marianne has a very positive approach to every student and every subject, believing in the student and the many available tools at hand. With a personalized approach to each one, there is little opportunity for failure, as lessons are tailored to a student’s level and needs. And there are so many ways to learn that it is always an adventure she and the student take together!
