About this Instructor

LESSON FEES: $55 for a 30-minute lesson $75 for a 45-minute lesson $90 for a 60-minute lesson IN-PERSON LESSON LOCATIONS: San Dimas, La Verne, Glendora, Azusa, Arcadia, Monrovia, Pasadena SUBJECTS: Drums, Piano, Viola, Violin, Cello, Guitar, Ukulele, Singing, Vocals, Music Theory, Music Appreciation, Composition My approach for teaching music is to customize each lesson to the student’s learning ability, musical desires, and personality. I teach a wide variety of instruments, and am flexible to any changes of instruments a student might want. My teaching age-level ranges from Kindergarten through High School. Though my name is James, most friends call me Jimi (and my students call me Teacher Jimi). A little about myself - I was homeschooled K-12th, graduated from Cal State LA with a Bachelor’s in Music, and have been teaching music with charter schools since 2011. Apart from teaching instruments, I have also been serving at my church with multiple music groups for over 15 years. My wife, son, and I live in the San Dimas / La Verne area, and we all enjoy learning music together, as well as languages and drawing.

Important Notes

All cancellations or schedule changes must be made directly with the instructor by 6 p.m. the night before a lesson to avoid a full lesson penalty fee. Some instructors may provide you with written notification outlining a different cancellation/penalty policy. This policy will supersede Home School Coaches’ policy. We truly want these lessons to support your educational goals, so feel free to share your expectations with your coach; this will enable them to provide you with a uniquely customized learning experience. Should you ever feel that these lessons do not match your expectations, please contact us to receive a refund on your remaining balance or to be matched with a different instructor.
