About this Instructor

LESSON FEES: $60 for a 30-minute lesson $80 for a 45-minute lesson $100 for a 60-minute lesson IN-PERSON LESSON LOCATIONS: Montebello, Pico Rivera, Whittier, San Gabriel, Pasadena SUBJECTS: Montebello, Pico Rivera, Whittier, Commerce, San Gabriel, Pasadena. BILINGUAL IN: Spanish Pianist Mark, known for his brilliant tone and poetic expressions has performed and taught in Southern California for over 30 years. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance from Chapman University where he studied under Pianist Joseph Matthews. Other principle teachers were Blanca Alameda, Jack Eugene Miller and Master Classes with Pianist James McCormick. As an active member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California Coach Mark was a co-founder of the Hacienda Heights Branch in 1991 and served as president from 1995-1999. Other organizations include the California Association of Professional Music Teachers where he served as District III Coordinator from 2004-2007, National Federation of Music Clubs and National Guild of Piano Teachers. In 2007 he was invited to join the Certificate of Merit Council and served as the New Materials State Chair from 2007-2011, and in 2012 as the Young Artist Guild State Chair. As an adjudicator in demand Coach Mark has judged numerous piano competitions throughout Southern California and parts of Northern California, and has given Master Classes for various music studios. He has served on faculty at the East Los Angeles Music and Art School and the Pacific School of Music and Art. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching duo-duet piano as well as performing with colleagues. Coach Mark and his wife Barbara have made their home and studio in the City of Montebello for the last thirty years.

All cancellations or schedule changes must be made directly with the instructor by 6 p.m. the night before a lesson to avoid a full lesson penalty fee. Some instructors may provide you with written notification outlining a different cancellation/penalty policy. This policy will supersede Home School Coaches’ policy. We truly want these lessons to support your educational goals, so feel free to share your expectations with your coach; this will enable them to provide you with a uniquely customized learning experience.
