About this Coach
LESSON FEES: $55 for a 30-minute lesson $70 for a 45-minute lesson $80 for a 60-minute lesson SUBJECTS: Creative Writing, TV/Film, Graphic Novels, General Writing, College Application Essay COACH BIO: Originally from Boston, Pat headed west to attend Stanford University, receiving his BA in English. After graduating, he spent several years in San Francisco working in youth education by day, and performing stand-up comedy at night. Recently, he moved to Los Angeles to attend the UCLA MFA program in Screenwriting, where he won awards like the Oliver Prize for Family Screenwriting and the Jack Nicholson Award. He specializes in family content, and his most prize winning screenplay so far was co-written by his 5 year old son, based on his fantasy world. Pat now creates TV and film scripts for companies like Disney and Mattel, but he continues to work with youth throughout the Los Angeles area and beyond, and is especially fond of teaching writing skills to kids. Pat is open to teaching creative writing in all forms to all ages -- from short stories and books to film scripts and graphic novels. He also helps high school students with college applications, including personal statements and applying for scholarships.

All cancellations or schedule changes must be made directly with the instructor by 6 p.m. the night before a lesson to avoid a full lesson penalty fee. Some instructors may provide you with written notification outlining a different cancellation/penalty policy. This policy will supersede Home School Coaches’ policy.
